Supporter Membership
If you like what you see you could become a supporter!
This is the information age so your time and attention is valuable. Reading, Liking and sharing what we do supports what we do!
If you are in a position to contribute in other ways this will help us do things like visit schools where small class sizes or distance from our base means we need to subsidise cost of the visit. Or to provide activities free at point of access and encourage people to inherit their full heritage.
Wordsmith Crafts, the parent body of Cluaran and Quartz is not a charity. It is registered as a company in Scotland and pays taxes. It has been set up to make heritage accessible, pay a living wage to creatives for their work, and support formal volunteering. We chose this form to build slowly from the ground up rather than rely on grants. The company is “asset locked” so there is a cap on how any individual or group can profit from it’s activities, and to check that any surplus generated is fed back into developing the community. Activated Membership
Activated members regularly take part in Cluaran activities. To make this easier we keep more details on file – like safety checks – and this allows access to perks (Like access or storage space).
You can read about future ideas and past achievements on the blog as they are developed.
Everything is held together in Wordsmith Crafts CIC (WSC). This will help shape the way in which the community grows, and members will be consulted on how resources are invested.
