Our Mission
The original Vison of Cluaran continues to be carried out, although the way in which this is done has been adapted to suit changes in circumstances since 2013!

Run events such as craft workshops, feasts and information evenings using living history techniques to work with individuals and build community. Many of these will focus on the early Medieval period and the formation of both nations, but we will also explore the continuing relationship into modern times.
    - Many of the original members of Cluaran have been helping with a local project called "Hidden Histories" 3 feast so far, and hopefully more to follow.

Increase the public awareness of the cultural heritage shared by Scots and Norwegians, primarily by contributing to living history displays. Knowledge and skills developed, and assets acquired, will also be used to participate in other events such as school visits, rowing races and so on in partnership with other like-minded organisations.
     - We have been taking the boat round schools and contributing to historical affairs such as the commemoration of the treaty of Perth. We have also contributed to the "Our Norwegian Story" Project in Dumfries, keeping the links up to date!
